It’s wonderful to live here in Scandinavia.

Længe leve Thor og Odins lande.
And may God B less.

I wasn’t going to say this, but you’re a complete idiot. How is that for honesty?
Here’s why you’re an idiot: You cannot tell the difference between censorship and respecting someone’s space. If u don’t want prayer in schools, that’s fine. But keep your bs out of our churches.
If you’re having dinner with your family and I cuss u out right there, are u “fearful” if u get angry? Or was I the asshole for interrupting your family time? By your logic, I would be right.
rock
The answer: You would be well within your rights to be angry if I stated my opinions in your house, or your family time. There is a time and a place for everything. You don’t want prayer in schools? Fine. Then keep your bs out of our churches.
Perhaps you WANT me to “fear” God haters like you, because you’re a little man. Short on logic and brain cells. Next time you want to attack someone, go for someone you can handle. That person is not me.
Good for him. We need him.
@velayasha
It’s illuminating that you assumed the Danish cartoonists were athiests – they probably weren’t, Denmark is a majority Christian nation
It’s also telling that you consider the firebombing of embassies and the death of 100 people to be “A LITTLE TOO FAR”. Just out of interest, what would be WAY too far in your view? Remember that we’re talking about CARTOONS here.
And you’re “glad that the muslims fought back”? So you’re a TERRORIST SYMPATHISER now?
BTW I can guarantee you that it’s not against the law to criticise someone in their home – at least not if you voluntarily let them in. I don’t know what kind of fantasy land YOU live in but where I come from – the REAL WORLD – police are only allowed to arrest people if they break the law. Sorry grandma. I’m willing to bet you a million dollars that if you call the police on a non-violent dinner guest, because they’re arguing with you, they’ll laugh their ass off and get back to solving murders
@velayasha
What are you babbling about? I can’t count the number of times I’ve argued with people I know about ANY subject in their houses. People generally tolerate that sort of thing – it’s called having an opinion (aka “being interesting”)
Do you mean to say that you actually CALL THE POLICE whenever an argument breaks out in your house? What kind of thought fascist ARE you? You must throw some pretty fucking tedious dinner parties, I’ll say that
rockn
Yeah, the muslims took the cartoon thing a little too far, but I don’t blame them for being pissed. Some of you atheists are so used to taunting and villifying christians, that you think all religions will take that.
Not so. I’m glad the muslims fought back. It’s one thing to not choose Islam. It’s another thing to insult them.
And yes, you have free speech, but no speech is without cost. There are consequences.
rockn
Actually, if someone owns a patch of land, they can excercise their right to be free of criticism by calling the police and having you escorted off THEIR land. You can give your free speech spiel to the cops as they’re hauling you off.
And stop lying. If I interrupted your family dinner to give my “views”, you would be mad as hell. And rightfully so.
Your problem is that you don’t respect boundaries. If you live like that, no will respect you.
@velayasha
Actually, do you remember that not so long ago the Muslim world went apeshit just because some Danish newspaper published some caricatures of Mohammed? Muslims consider it “disrespectful” to do that, but does that mean that the ENTIRE WORLD should bow down to their whim?
EVERY religion thinks it has the right to tell people what is or isn’t “offensive behaviour”, but as far as I’m concerned every religion can suck my nuts simultaneously. Being criticised is a part of adulthood
@velayasha
And BTW your “prayer in schools” example isn’t even relevant – that’s not a question of censorship OR offense, that’s a question of whether the government has the right to favour religion over athiesm, and it doesn’t. It would violate the separation of church and state just as much if a school mandated some kind of “athiest oath”. As an aside, notice also that no athiest in the world is campaigning for such a thing
And let’s not forget that the church allowed him to perform. If believers want to hear alternative opinions – in their house of worship or anywhere else – who are you to say that they can’t?
Regarding the family example, whether or not someone “cussing me out” is acceptable or not would depend whether I did anything to bring it on. Maybe you think that people deserve the right to be free of criticism just because they own a patch of land, but I simply disagree. Deal with it
Velayasha says: “There is a time and a place for everything”
The issue then becomes: who gets to DECIDE what that time and place IS? Believers may want to INVENT little sanctuaries where thinking isn’t necessary and criticism isn’t allowed, but athiests don’t recognise those sanctuaries and there are no laws protecting them, so that’s just tough shit for you
Anyway, what the comedian said wasn’t even that offensive. You’re acting as though he slapped the priest and took a shit on the altar
I love how awkward they all look.
Kul att dom översatt Sverige Demokraterna som KKK
It’s called religion. And it’s dangerous.
MotionFrequency, are you saying that if you did not have religion, you would be out committing adultery, murdering, stealing, and being greedy, prideful, envious, and jealous?
The blonde at 4:01… smokin!!
@velayasha
“But I certainly value Islamic values more than yours. I least they believe in the Allah too and share most of the same values we christians do”
How could you possibly KNOW that? The only thing you KNOW about me is I’m an athiest in favour of free expression. I doubt you’ve even MET more than 3 muslims in your life. You’re just making dumb assumptions based on stereotypes – RELIGION = GOOD, ATHIESM = BAD. You’re just a brainwashed robot
@velayasha
I’m absolutely in shock. You have ACTUALLY talked about BURNING DOWN EMBASSIES with SHEER INDIFFERENCE, and AT THE SAME TIME you consider it a “rude affront to civilisation” when an athiest TELLS JOKES IN A CHURCH. The SHEER DEPTH of your retardation makes my brain bleed
So a CARTOON is an unforgivable insult to Islam, and jokes in a church are an unforgivable insult to christianity, but BURNING DOWN THE DANISH EMBASSY is somehow NOT an unforgivable insult to democracy?
@velayasha
“but knowing when to keep our mouths shut is a virtue. Not a vice”
That’s NOT EVEN THE POINT. What are you saying? That the Danish cartoonists should have KNOWN that a bunch of psychos would burn down embassies in response to their NEWSPAPER CARTOON? Do you think that it’s THEIR fault?
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THAT ANY CARTOON AT ALL COULD POSSIBLY JUSTIFY BURNING DOWN AN EMBASSY. Taking a shit on the hajj wouldn’t even “justify” that
@velayasha
“Terrorism is in the eye of the beholder”
Well, no, BURNING DOWN EMBASSIES in response to a CARTOON, for the explicit purpose of threatening a country into doing something, fits the DICTIONARY DEFINITION of terrorism
And you HAVEN’T EVEN DENIED my accusation that you sympathise with the psychopaths that performed those acts. I can’t even believe that. I honestly can’t believe that anyone could possibly be as mind-numbingly idiotic as that. You don’t even BELONG in a democracy
rockn
And why are you putting words in my mouth? I never said I would call the police if someone argued with me sin my house.
My point is that if you are RUDE and have NO CLASS, and are asked to leave, it’s your own fault for being an ass and showing no respect. If you REFUSE to leave, then your prescence becomes illegal.
We all have our opinions, but knowing when to keep our mouths shut is a virtue. Not a vice.
rockn
Your words:”Apparently you value Islam more than free speech.”
More than free speech? Maybe,maybe not. But I certainly value Islamic values more than yours. I least they they believe in the Allah too and share most of the same values we christians do.
“So you’re a TERRORIST SYMPATHISER now?”- Terrorism is in the eye of the beholder. When American bvmbs accidently hit an Afghan village, the victims call that terrorism too.
velayasha says: “It’s one thing to not choose Islam. It’s another thing to insult them”
It’s quite another thing altogether to burn embassies down in THREE COUNTRIES based on a handful of lame cartoons. And it’s YET ANOTHER THING to sympathise with such idiocy based on some warped sense of “respect” – were muslims “respecting” western values when they protested against freedom of speech? But we’re all supposed to respect their insane cult?
Apparently you value Islam more than free speech
